By Train

Take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Kamikōchi Station. Transfer to the connecting bus bound for Minakami Onsen, arriving at Minakami Station in about 20 minutes. From JR Joetsu Line Minakami Station, it's a 15-minute walk (0.8 km). A complimentary shuttle bus is available.

By Car

Take the Jōshin-etsu Expressway to Minakami IC. At the first signal after exiting, turn left. After about 1 km, at the second signal, go straight, cross the Suwa-kyō Bridge, then turn left at the dead end. Follow the rustic Koyamaguchi Street for about 1 km; Minakami-kan will be on your left. Distance from Minakami IC: 3 km, approximately 7 minutes.
